Sample Device Classes
embeddedMIND is used to provide the on-device management layer (northbound interfaces) on telecoms / datacoms devices. Devices using embeddedMIND include IP routers and switches, access and security gateways and wireless base stations.
Greenfield / Prototype
embeddedMIND provides an ideal solution for the creation of a management layer in a new device. Rapid prototype development allows early visualization and stakeholder buy-in.
embeddedMIND’s support of multiple operating systems also reduces dependencies on external factors and widens deployment options. Extension of device capability while preserving existing development effort is part of the product architecture.
Legacy Upgrade
Existing systems frequently require upgrade of individual management protocols or addition of new functionality. embeddedMIND's modular architecture means management protocol choices can be easily extended in subsequent releases of your product.
Web interfaces are often absent on older systems and XML can be used as a mediation layer for integration into heterogeneous environments. embeddedMIND can also be used to emulate and extend existing command line interfaces or to add NETCONF to existing systems. Support is offered for customers upgrading from or complementing homegrown or legacy systems.
Device Platform usage
embeddedMIND is already in use as a central platform solution applied across product families. This has the obvious synergies of code and artifact reuse, management interface standardization and in-house developer familiarity.
embeddedMIND’s support for multiple hardware/OS platforms and proven operation in vastly differing architectures allows for a common extensible management view even across heterogeneous devices.
